Did You Know That You Can Convert Your Car To A Water-Burning Car?

Water powered cars are something that the public has been hoping to see on the road for a few decades now. The possibility of water powered cars being invented has been talked up practically since the invention of the automobile itself. Unfortunately as of yet, there are no water powered cars to be seen on the roads or even at car lots because they have not yet been invented-or if they have, they haven't been proven safe enough to release to the public. This doesn't mean that the demand for water powered cars is ever going to go away. On the contrary, with the ever increasing cost of gasoline, the demand for water powered cars has reached an almost fevered pitch.

If we were experts in thermodynamics, physics, chemistry and car engines, here is how our water powered cars would work:

The gasoline tank would be replaced with a water tank. In that water tank there would be two metal plates. Each of those metal plates would be hooked up to its own electrical charge, which would effectively turn those plates into electrodes. A battery would send an electrical current through the water tank and this electrical current would cause the water molecules to react. Their reaction to the electricity would be for each of the two elements to separate and reform into two diatomic molecules: O2 and H2. The H2 would appear at the negatively charged electrode while the O2 would appear at the positively charged electrode. From the electrode the H2 diatomic molecules would be burned and the combustion of the hydrogen atoms would produce the power that would be necessary to run the car. If everything works the way it is supposed to, the power that comes from the H2 combustion would be relatively equal to two and a half times the power created form the combustion of gasoline.

Unfortunately, so far, this method hasn't proven to work correctly because a true water fuel cell will never work correctly. The laws of thermodynamics make it practically impossible for a water fuel cell to work. In order for the water fuel cell to work properly it needs to be a perpetual motion machine. In order to be a perpetual motion machine, the energy that is exerted in separating the molecules must be less than the amount of energy created as a result of the separation process. This means that there is a constant build up of energy within the fuel cell. Unfortunately the energy required to split a water molecule will always far outweigh the amount of energy created by the split itself. This renders the water fuel cell useless.

Hopefully one of these days, scientists will have a breakthrough and will figure out how to create water powered cars. After all, with the price of gasoline being what it is, the demand for such a product is huge. While nothing has been invented yet, you can take comfort in knowing that scientists and technicians are working like crazy to make water powered cars a possibility.

Snowmobile Power Valves - Polaris, Ski-Doo & Arctic Cat Variable Exhaust Valve System Basics

They can be called "APV" by Arctic Cat, "RAVE" by Ski-Doo or "VES" by Polaris. If you own a 2-stroke snowmobile made in the last 15 years, the engine is likely equipped with "variable exhaust power valves". If that is the case, you probably know that you have to be quite diligent about their cleanliness and operation. This is one engine component that has to be monitored regularly to maintain peak performance.

Variable exhaust power valves are moving devices located at the engine's exhaust port. Every brand's variation is there to provide the same essential service and that is to vary the height and width of the exhaust port according to engine RPM. This vastly broadens the power band. At low RPM, the valves are in a closed position which promotes more complete combustion. This improves low-end torque and minimizes unburned gases in the exhaust stream. At high RPM, the valves are wide open which allows for optimum exhaust flow. This enables the engine to rev freely and produce maximum top end horsepower. Older systems were actuated by a mechanical linkage which opened and closed the valves based on engine RPM. Modern systems are actuated by electronic servo motors which precisely position the valves throughout the RPM range. Before the advent of the power valve, engine builders had to determine one size and shape of the exhaust port and exhaust pipe. This predetermined whether the engine would provide its optimum power delivery at either the high, mid or low RPM range. The power valve allows the two-cycle engine to provide usable horsepower throughout its operating RPM range.

The modern power valve system has evolved from a number of different variations over the last 30 years. Yamaha was the first company to find success with this concept when they integrated a variable exhaust power valve system in their 2-stroke Grand Prix road-racing motorcycles in the late 1970's. The technology then made its way to Yamaha's production road and motocross bikes the early 1980's. Other motorcycle manufacturers soon came up with their own systems. By the early 1990's, virtually all high-performance two-cycle motorcycles, ATV's, personal water-crafts and snowmobiles were equipped with variable exhaust power valve systems.

Keeping the power valve system clean is of paramount importance. As power valves are located directly in the stream of the exhaust flow, carbon deposits can accumulate on the valves over time. The deposit build-up can alter the shape of the valves and change the engine's exhaust flow characteristics. In extreme cases, the exhaust port can become completely clogged and expensive damage can occur. Deposits can also can hinder the valve movement or leave them stuck in one spot. Any of these scenarios will drastically impair the power delivery and output of your engine.

The task of maintaining your snowmobile's power valve system is not complicated. Your service or owner's manual will give specific instructions on how to remove and clean the system. Be careful when cleaning the valves, as you do not want to scratch or roughen the surfaces. Your manual will also offer a specific service interval and it should be followed religiously.

Once your valves are clean, there are ways to prevent premature valve depositing. First and foremost is to make sure that your machine is tuned correctly. Overly rich carburetor jetting is a major contributor to this malady. Rich jetting will allow too much fuel into the combustion chamber and this promotes carbon formation. If your sled is fuel injected, make sure that the system is operating correctly. Also make sure that your oil injection system is delivering the proper amount of oil. Perform regular spark plug readings as described in your manual. If your plug readings are off and you cannot determine the cause, contact your dealer.

Another major contributor to power valve depositing is the use of poor quality 2-cycle oil. The cheaper base stocks and additives used in lower grade oils can be cooked into carbon deposits very quickly. High quality synthetic two-cycle oil is notorious for its clean burning characteristics and will dramatically lower the rate of deposit formation. Good quality synthetic oils use sophisticated base stocks and high temperature additives which are engineered to avoid power valve depositing. They also have an effective detergent/dispersant package which will allow for much cleaner operation. When it comes to two-stroke injector oil, you definitely get what you pay for. Spending a little more on an oil that is specifically engineered to provide clean power valve operation will not only improve your engine's performance, it will save the headaches and expense that come with premature power valve depositing.

Snowmobiles operated at low speed and steady RPM over extended periods can also promote deposit build up. During this type of operation, the valves maintain a stationary position and this allows deposits to form. If the valves are constantly changing positions, there is less chance of deposits forming and increasing in size.

Variable exhaust power valves have revolutionized the capabilities of 2-cycle engines. With a little bit of maintenance and care, they will offer trouble-free performance.

Hyundai Closing In On Honda As Their Brand Value Rises

Hyundai Motor Corp. surprised everyone this year by making the biggest increase in automotive brand value and recognition. Hyundai for the first time ever beat such marques as Porsche, Lexus, and Nissan. Honda and Toyota are now forced to take Hyundai more seriously as it is now closing in on them at a rapid pace. According to J.D. Power and Associates, Hyundai has one of the highest consumer satisfaction ratings of all vehicle manufacturers and its brand value has greatly increases after the introduction of their hot 2006 model lineup.

According to the 2006 Best Global Brands survey Hyundai Motor Company has emerged as one of the worlds leading brands with stellar levels of customer satisfaction that rival the best in the industry. Brandon Yea, Hyundai's vice president for branding strategy, states "Hyundai represents solid quality and representation at every level now as we have everything from the low end to our new entry into luxury sedans with the Alzerra." Hyundai is now being seen as a serious player in the automotive industry. While other automakers are worried about profits (GM and Chrysler), Hyundai is thinking about how much more market share it will take this year. The Alzerra was targeted at the Acura and Lexus luxury car markets and has shown great promise so far.

Apparently Hyundai has taken a page from Walmart's founder Sam Walton - price yourself as aggressive as possible while providing what your customers want and need. Hyundai has out priced their competition and now sits poised to become, perhaps, the major automotive player similar to what Walmart did with its retail stores. According to the Harvard Business Review, Hyundai has the perfect business model and will be the automotive manufacturer to beat in the coming years. Large automotive dealership chains like Hendrick Automotive Group and Sonic are adding Hyundai dealerships as fast as they can be built.

Hyundai isn't sitting on its laurels with the good news, however. They are investing heavily in research and product development. They are also planning and designing more competitive models. "We have found great success in every product line we have been involved in and will continue to add to this. Our philosophy is similar to MDWholesale.com, one of our business partners - To provide the best value at the best price for our customers," stated Yea. GM and Chrysler will learn a lot about the car business from Hyundai, they don't have a choice.

Drifting A Nissan 300zx

Drifting has become a phenomenon, not just for teenagers and young adult men, but women and older adults are participating in this most unusual sport. There is quite a large debate among drifters as to what cars can actually drift, what cars are best for drifting and what cars can absolutely not drift.

Our focus will be on whether or not the Nissan 300zx can drift, is it considered a good drifter and how does the weight of the 300zx affect its drifting capabilities. Nissan Sport Magazine is the expert Nissan magazine, and they love to see exactly what Nissan's are capable of. In 2005, Nissan Sport Magazine decided to test the 300zx Twin Turbo and the 300zx 2 + 2, to see what they were capable of in the drifting arena.

Before we drift, what exactly do we know about the 300zx that makes it different than the "typical" drifting car?

• The 300zx is FAST! The ability to reach 60 mph in around 5 - 6 seconds makes it an incredibly quick sports car, and with engine modifications, turbo modifications, or boost kits...it is even faster.

• The 300zx is heavy. The 300zx weighs in at a little over 3,500 lbs! This was and still is unheard of in what is considered to be a fast, agile sports car.

Many so-called "experts" claim that the 300zx can't drift because of its weight. Well, Nissan Sport Magazine wanted to find out if this was truth or myth. Let's see what their road tests showed:

• You CAN drift the ZX! It has an amazing right turn drift, but it requires an experienced drifter. Where some cars can be drifted by first-timers, the 300zx is not one of those. A key factor to drifting this particular ZX is the E-Brake. The emergency brake requires a harder jerk than other cars, due to the type of brakes that are on this model.

• The four drifts that were conducted on this ZX model completely destroyed a set of high-end Bridgestone tires!

• Nissan Sport Magazine also noted that less wheel flicking and more throttle, creates a better drift in the ZX. What additional factors play into drifting the 300zx?

Modify, modify, and modify some more! You can customize your braking system with performance brakes, you can use sup-up the turbo with a turbo kit, or simply do some minor tweaks with air intake and strut bars. Ok...so now you know what it takes to drift, but you have to find the best place to get your modification parts. I ALWAYS use Modified 300zx.

Jennifer Lassiter is a mom of four girls, and a advid fan of the Nissan 300zx. She enjoys shopping for aftermarket accessories and putting new touchs on her car. She also runs her own business.

Blown Head Gasket? What To Do, And What Not To Do!

A blown head gasket can be a costly repair any way you look at it, but there are some ways to make sure you get the most value out of your repair. The first thing to do is to make sure the diagnosis is correct. Then, find a reputable dealership or repair shop to handle the repair, preferably one that has a lot of experience in engine rebuilds and head gasket repair. Then, with the tips following, be sure to ask a few key questions to make sure the repair is done correctly.

The diagnosis can be a little tricky depending on how bad the head gasket is. If it is beginning to fail, the signs will be moderate, and will typically be a slight overheating, or a small amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust. If the gasket is completely gone, it will be obvious due to the rough idle, or it wont run at all. If it does run, there will be a large amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust. If the head gasket blows while driving, the biggest thing to watch out for is the temperature. Higher temps can quickly damage an engine by causing warping of the heads or the block, or even cracking. The sooner the engine is stopped after realizing the head gasket is blown, the better the chances of rebuilding the top end without major consequences.

The person or shop that performs the rebuild should know to check for warping of the block surface, the head surface, and to check for cracks in the head. These checks may cost a little more, but the consequences can be much more costly in the end if they are not checked. If the block is slightly warped, do ahead and have it flattened; if the head needs to be repaired, it can be decked to get the surface straight again. If the head is cracked, it will probably need to be replaced, but some have had success welding and repairing them. It depends on the location of the crack.

Once the parts are cleaned and/or repaired, its time to have it assembled. Most shops will know to torque the heads down to specs, and to use all new studs on the head. This helps make sure that the head is fastened on securely. Using the old studs can create a situation where the head is not properly torqued because the studs will stretch when they are torques. Old stud have already been stretched, so the torque value will be different than a new stud. You can see the difference in the treads if you hold the two studs up together.

These are a few things to look out for when having a head gasket repaired. You can look to spend between 1200 and 2000 depending on how much work needs to be done. Don't make the mistake in paying a discounted price for less experienced work. The results will cost you.

Public Car Auction

Over the last couple of years, public car auctions, which were usually thought to be closed to general public, has become more open to the public at large. There are hundreds of public car auctions that are now available to the general public. As a matter of fact, if you know where to go and where to look, you will certainly get one of the best deals in a public car auction. Surprisingly these cars come from a variety of sources. From Police repossessions, to IRS repossessions, from trade in at new car dealerships, you name the source, be assured there is a car from that source. In fact going to a public car auction is this is a great way to save yourself time, money when looking to purchase a new car.

Once you have decided the car you want, start bidding on it. If the bidding gets beyond your budget, you can always drop out and walk away from the auction. Let someone else have the car as it suits their budget maybe. Don't worry about losing a car, there is always the next car coming for auction. One way to stay ahead is to research the car auction before you go and bid there. Find out some details from the staff there as to the detailed listings of the cars being sold. Before you start bidding, decide on the limits of your budget. As soon as you feel the bidding is going on the higher side, drop out of the auction and wait for the next car.

Most people do not consider the fact that buying cars in a public car auction can be an excellent source of investment. You buy at a low price and sell at the normal asking price i.e. you will be making a decent profit. Similar to all auctions, public car auctions too attract all forms of investors and future car owners.

One of the main reasons why people buy cars at auctions is that they can get to buy a great used car at much lower prices than the market rates. Apart from that is the availability of a wide range of cars if they loose the first car of their choice. Another way you can also consider is online auctions, which are usually public car auctions. Online car auction websites are a great way of finding a bargain car while sitting comfortably in front your computer. It is amazing how many car deals are closed every day, again through online car auction venues. So if you are after your new vehicle, try it. Real estate auctions!! A better way to sell your property!

Every heard of Real Estate auctions?? If no, don't be flabbergasted. The traditional way of selling properties has been either through placing an ad in the classifieds of the local daily with a good reach or through real estate brokers, who have access to real buyers. Undeniably both of them have their advantages. With a classified in a local daily, you can reach a wide audience spread over the area where the daily is usually distributed. While this gives you a wide reach, it might result in a lot of unwanted calls and enquiries. Real Estate Auctions eliminates these hassles. With the real estate agent, you might get a lot of prospects, but how many of them are qualified prospects is something to be noted.

Here is where real estate auctions come into picture. They provide a great platform for you to sell your property. It minimizes the hassles of prospects visiting the house frequently at untimely hours as well as attracts only qualified buyers who are actually looking to buy a property.

There are numerous advantages of holding a real estate auction.

5. Speed: One of the biggest advantages in an auction. You have prospects that are willing to buy and the auction itself will be completed one day. Everything is done at double-quick speed. This is a refreshing change from the long drawn process of the normal way of selling real estate.

6. You decide the date and time of auction. Once the prospects have looked at the property, you decide the date of auction and time as well. All happens without disturbing your regular schedule!!

7. You will get a better pricing with auctions. It is a known fact that auctions usually drive up prices. Real estate auctions are no different. They get a better price for the property owner with minimal effort. Sooner or later the property owner will be out looking for a new house, maybe in a better neighborhood.

8. You get the right prospects in a real estate auction. Invariably, the prospects will be people who are interested in buying the property and with the required credit line or funds.

Irrespective of the state of the property market, real estate auctions provide a great way to sell your properties for a better price. It is really a quicker way of disposing properties without the usual hassles. In real estate auctions it is said, both the buyers as well as seller, benefits, a lot. The Seller has the advantage of getting the properties disposed off faster and the Buyer has the advantage of getting the property into his hands quicker.

So, if you have a property and are looking to sell of the property, but were scared about the hassles involved in it, Real estate auctions are the way out for you. You decide the time, place and date of the auction. You are more or less assured of a better price. You can be assured of a quicker disposal of your property.

Best Car Care Makeover From The Detailing Experts

By spending a little time, effort and money one can easily prolong their cars life and also make it look its best. You can also cheat by taking your car to a detail shop and have it professionally cleaned, washed and waxed for over $100. Most of us can not afford to pay $100 every month for professional detailers, so here is what to do.

1) Thoroughly clean the car. First spray the car and get it wet. This will lubricate the dirt on the car and make it less likely to scratch the paint when you wash it off. Then, using car wash soap, wash the car one section at a time and then rinse. This will ensure the soap does not dry on the car and removes more dirt. Make sure you clean your tires and wheels also. Brake dust can be tough to remove. Use a clean towel to get in all the grooves. Let the car completely dry before proceeding to the polish or wax.

2) Use a car polish for good, lasting protection. Car polishes are polymer blends with out any wax and can last for a full year and dozens of car washes. Apply the polish in circular motions and let dry to a haze. Car polish is always in liquid form and is very easy to apply. Use a clean terry cloth for application. Apply only one section at a time. Use a clean towel then to buff dry the finish. It is a good idea to use 2 to 3 coats of car polish for maximum protection.

3) Follow up the car polish with a good car wax. Car wax is not as strong as car polish and must be reapplied more often, but it gives a much deeper and glossier shine and finish. When applied after car polish it even multiplies the shine and becomes almost unbelievable. Apply in the same fashion as the car polish. Car wax may come in a paste or liquid form. The paste is a little more difficult to use. Let it dry to a haze and then buff dry. For the best shine you have ever seen use 2 to 3 applications of wax on top of the 2 to 3 coats of car polish. This is a top trade secret detailers use to get that showroom shine on almost any car.

4) Do not forget to protect your tires and wheels. Tires can easily be brushed with some Armor All protectant and they will shine and look great. Wheels will be better protected with a polish or wax. The same car polish you used on your paint will work great and will last longer.

5) Do not neglect dings and dents. You can easily have a paintless dent removal company remove these and improve the appearance of your car. The average cost is $30 to $90 per ding or dent. Far less than a body shop would charge. Another good idea is to use a headlight cleaning and restoration kit like the ones professionals use to make ugly, cloudy and worn headlights look like new. This will save you from costly replacements, give you better night time driving safety, and just make your car look that much better.

6) Don't forget the interior. Vacuum it out and remove all the garbage from under your seats. You would not believe the amount of garbage that can accumulate in some peoples cars. Treat leather seats so they will not dry out and crack. This is as simple as a spray on and wipe off treatment you can find at Walmart.

7) Last, but not least, clean the glass inside and out. The glass is what you have to see through and if it is not clean you are not safe, it is that simple. Forget about how good it makes your car look to have perfectly clear windows. Just remember the fact that 50% of accidents resulting in serious injury are due to poor visibility and you will clean your windows more often than you do now.

There you have it, how to completely makeover your car inside and out. With a little time and proper car care your car will shine like never before.

Road Test Tips, Tricks And Secrets - Pass The Road Test The First Time!

Whoa! It's finally here the day of your road test. Bet you're nervous, I know I was. Do you need some help to pass the test? Well these tips, secrets and tricks that I will tell you today is what helped me and my two teenage sons pass the road test the FIRST time.
The test is the last hurdle you'll have to pass before you get your driver's license. The examiner will ride with you in your vehicle and will assess the skills you've learned and practiced. It can be nerve-wracking, sure, but if you've studied carefully and practiced sufficiently you should be well prepared for this.

What you have to decide first is what car you will use for the test. It is always best to use the car you practiced with, for many reasons. You probably practiced many hours before the test so you are probably very comfortable with that car. Also you will find that some turns and maneuvers that you have to do especially parallel parking can be very different depending on the size of the vehicle.

The first thing he will do before the actual test is check your signal and brake lights so make sure that they are working properly. Double-check these before you leave home. This would be a bad time to find out that your rear tail light is busted so you have to reschedule.

Once you start the test remember to use your signals at all appropriate times. You will also likely be asked to use hand signals to show that you know how to use them if your turn signals don't work. Always be certain the hand signals you use, are the ones in the book.

Your examiner will ask you to do routine maneuvers such as changing lanes and merging with other traffic. Use your rear-view mirrors and remember to look over your shoulder when doing these. Look over your shoulder even if, you think you can see the blind spot. It sounds stupid but examiners specifically look to see whether people are looking over their shoulder or just using the mirrors. Not looking over the shoulder is a common mistake that people make and these people usually have to come back to take the road test again. Additionally show the examiner that you're aware of the traffic around you. Stay within the speed limit at all times and listen carefully to his instructions. Another important tip that many people don' think of is the cell phone, this would not be a good time to answer your cell phone if it rings; in fact you should turn it off or leave it home altogether.

Always be aware of all traffic signs and obey them. Come to COMPLETE stops at stop signs and know the routine for four-way stops. Keep in mind that most other drivers on the road do not follow the routine for a four way stop properly. For that reason you must still be careful even if you know it's your turn to go. And if some other driver goes before they were supposed to don't show any road rage, remember the examiner is watching everything you do. Think of it this way other people's mistakes on the road will only make you look better.

Another important aspect of the road test is parallel parking and is traditionally the hardest part of the test. You can perfect your parallel parking by setting up cardboard boxes in a deserted parking lot somewhere and practicing until you can do these with your eyes closed. Also there are some "cheats" to parallel parking but these techniques are different depending on the size of the vehicle. If I position my car so that the middle of it is lined up with the bumper of the vehicle in front and I turn the wheel hard and backup it's almost always a perfect parking job. But again the position depends on the vehicle you're driving, if this happens to be the instructors car he probably knows some little "cheats". If it's your vehicle, when you get pretty good at parallel parking try parallel parking behind real vehicles and try this technique and find the right position for your car. This will help you out immensely when you have to park for the test.

During the exam you will have to demonstrate that you can back up, do a three-point turn, and park correctly on a hill. Before you know it your test will be over and you will have earned your driver's license.

The most important tips that will help you pass the test the first time is simple: practice and remain calm. Of course you know that you need to practice. Practicing with a trained experienced instructor is best but you should also practice the maneuvers that you have trouble with on your own. During the test you have to remain calm. If you have practiced enough and you remember these key tips you will have no problem passing the road test so don't get nervous.

For extra practice I got my two teenage sons the get ready to pass videos. It was something extra that helped them to pass the road test the first time. These videos helped them remain calm and relaxed during the test because they take you step by step though every aspect of the road test, so their won't be any surprises. It's a great resource that you can pop in the day before the test to keep your mind fresh on all the things to look out for. These videos also contain many more road test tips, secrets and tricks that will help you pass the road test the first time. And I knew I wasn't buying some rip off homemade video because these videos are made by a reputable company endorsed by Honda and The Motorcycle Safety Institute for safer driving.

Their website also provides a FREE study guide & free quiz! As well as a FREE preview video

Best Car Lease Deal - 2008 Chevy Malibu

Named after Malibu in California, this car straight out of General Motors' Chevrolet line looks like it could top many best car lease deal lists in the country yet again; especially with the release of the 2008 Chevy Malibu. Top magazines have called it the next big thing in mid-sized cars, commenting that Chevrolet has delivered and arrived, while also warning other top car manufacturers to start stepping up their game. If that's not enough to make this the next top best car lease deal, then we don't know what is; unless of course another car should come along to take its place. Perhaps this is a wake up for competitors like Toyota.

Coming out next fall, the Chevy Malibu 2008 is all about style than it is about power. With Chevrolet's all-new trademark styling (the dual-port grille in front of most of their vehicles), this is probably the best Malibu since the series was ever conceptualized. These may be bold words, but one look at this next best car lease deal will convince many a car lover for many months (or years) to come. The 2008 Malibu was designed with features specifically to suit American taste: the new grille, over-sized headlamps, and a sleek back-swept windshield. Topped off with thin panel gaps and wheels that seem to fill the arches completely, it's obviously a lot richer than any previous models from Chevrolet and it won't be surprising to see starting prices bumping up to almost $20,000. Nevertheless, it's a still a price that many can afford for a basic model and one will definitely get the best car lease deal when looking to add all the extra features available for it.

The Chevy Malibu has done what it was expected to do: it's gotten bigger. This is obvious when looking at its waistline which is about three inches longer than its predecessor. Also, in the wheelbase it is about six inches longer and a half-inch wider. Three models are expected to be released (bases LS, mid-range LT and the loaded LTZ) and many green-supporters will be glad to know that Chevrolet is including the rollout of a hybrid as well.

Chevrolet has dubbed the Malibu as the car that nobody can ignore; and this is all for good reason. Check out more on the new Chevy Malibu at www.chevrolet.com/malibu.

Seized Car Auctions Or Where To Find A Cheap Used Car For Sale

Many people ask me every day: "Where can I buy a cheap car?" or "Where did you buy your car?" or sometimes even "How much does your car cost?" The answer shocks them. I have bought my new car for only 2000$. In this article I will tell you what is the easiest way to find a cheap used or even a new car and how to buy it. I will also share my experience with you.

Ok, so we all know that you can find a used car reading a local newspaper. As for me, it is the worst thing to do. First of all, have you ever thought where do all these guys get their cars? Of course from the government auctions! Then they resell these cars and earn many money. PS. I am one of these guys.

So, the best way to buy a cheap car is the government car auctions or seized car auctions as they are often called. You can find a cheap used car for sale there at a very low price. Sometimes up to 90% off the book value. The reason is very simple - these cars are confiscated from people, who did not pay on their taxes or bank loans. Sometimes these cars are even repossessed from the criminals. The government sells these cars for a very low price to free up storage space.

However you should pay a small price to take part in these auctions because they have to cover the expenses incurred in holding the auction.

Well, that is about all I got for now. If you want to know more about these auctions, you should visit the website below, which I use to buy cars and sell them later. I hope this article sheds some light for you on buying cheap cars, thank you for reading.

Which is Better - Manual vs Automatic Transmissions?

Settle the Difference between Manual and Automatic Transmissions

Any car enthusiast knows the ultimate difference between a manual and automatic transmission, based on a number of factors. But for those who are simply content on driving around without giving so much thought about their car's components, these two terms can simply be considered as jargons.

So what are the differences between manual and automatic transmissions?

Operation

Perhaps you've encountered various technical definitions between manual and automatic transmissions that you can hardly understand their generic functions. Simply put, manual transmissions mean you have full control with your gears while with automatic you can limit your choices between two pedals. These alone already provide their basic distinction. Manual transmissions work well if you like to be the ultimate master of your vehicle. It gives you more freedom when it comes to maneuvering your car on steep hills or curves. It will also allow you to combat tough weather conditions more comfortably than when your auto has automatic transmission.

It doesn't mean, however, that automatic transmission is futile. Because it's very convenient to operate, you can breeze through traffic more easily compared to using automatic transmission. Second, it won't take you much of a long time to determine how to navigate with automatic transmissions. It's even like driving your own go-cart.

Costs

Though automatic transmissions mean ease of use, they do eat up too much fuel; thus, if you're trying to save on fuel, make sure that you're not settling for automatic transmission. You can save at least 10 percent in fuel economy if you go for manual transmission. Besides, automatic transmissions are known to be ultimately expensive. They have a starting market price of $700.

When it comes to repair and maintenance costs, manual transmissions appear to be more superior. They don't need too much refining, so you can definitely save huge bucks in your maintenance and repair budget. In fact, there are a number of car manufacturers who believe that manual transmissions don't need too much in the way of fluid changes. On the other hand, if ever manual transmissions go haywire, they don't cost a lot to get fixed. The clutch, which is one of the most expensive components of a car and the most labor intensive when it gets damaged, is more maintained easily in manual than in automatic transmission. To make matters worse, if your automatic transmission breaks down somewhere, you have to bring jumper cables with you. Otherwise, you won't be able to restart your engine. If this doesn't work, your last recourse will be the towing company.

The Birth of Manumatic Transmissions

During the onset of the twenty-first century, there's a new transmission method that was introduced by automobile manufacturers. It's referred to as the manumatic transmission. It is an automatic transmission that possesses certain manual-transmission features. A good example are the luxury cars of Chrysler. It's definitely automatic, only that you have more control in shifting your gears.

Shopping for the Right Transmission

When you have chosen your own car, make sure that before you actually buy it, you've already performed a test drive. This is to ensure that it suits your taste and your current need. You may also have to check on the EPA rating of your vehicle for both manual and automatic transmission. Keep in mind that this is not completely accurate, but at least it can provide you of a good idea on how much fuel your car can use.

Choosing the Right Transmission

In the end, when it comes to choosing which is which, you shouldn't limit your decision based on pros and cons of each. Rather, think of your car and what you truly need. For example, if you're going to get an Audi for maximum performance, you may want to consider getting a manual transmission so you can have control over its power. If you like to minimize your movements while you're driving, especially in the midst of traffic, automatic transmission is your best choice.

BMW Parts- Always Buy Originals

When you decide to buy information and products for repairs, the choice is yours. It is understandable when someone prides themselves on performing service work for their BMW by themselves, not to mention that this is a good way to save time and resources. You need to read that BMW manual very carefully. You'll most decidedly save some money by buying the BMW manuals. As a Do-It-Yourselfer, you will need to comprehend detailed information about your BMW parts.

Brakes are one of the most important BMW parts. BMW recommends that the brake fluid system in their cars be flushed and bled every year. Considering the importance of properly working brakes, this is the single most important maintenance item and often the most overlooked.

Water, dirt and air are the three major threats that decline the functioning of brake system. The system rusts from within when water is being absorbed by the brake fluid. Secondly the brake master cylinder and brake calipers accumulate dirt over a period and disable the machined surfaces. Lastly air passing through the lines causes the brakes to be spongy and become ineffective.

It is a misconception to say that too much flushing of your brake fluid is a bad thing, but it is true that for most applications, once a year is sufficient. It is, however, dependent upon the amount of driving that you do in a year, as well as how much city or highway driving that consists of, the type of transmission in your car, and how you tend to use your brakes. The cost of brake fluid is comparatively small also, generally no more than $15, so cost should not really be considered here.

BMW owners who go to performance driving schools must ensure that this service is accomplished often, and that it is done proficiently. Many backyard mechanics like to perform this service themselves, trying to exhibit competence with all BMW parts. Bleeding brakes without the help of a partner may be convenient, but it is traditionally considered a two-person task.

BMW accessories can be found on the market, but finding such accessories in their original state can be tough. One important tool is a pressure bleeder. Because of the method in which a pressure tool does its work, it is absolutely essential that you achieve enough vacuum. Commercial bleeders can be had on today's after-market, and these bleeders use the technique of suctioning fluid from the caliper. However, in general, these aren't felt to work very well.

You have options when it comes to purchasing repair guides and tools. Many people pride themselves in their repair work that they do themselves. Doing the work yourself saves a lot of time and money. Before you begin, investigate BMW parts

It is important to read the BMW manuals completely and thoroughly. Beyond that, look for BMW accessories. These are often ready to buy at stores, but finding original accessories can be hard. One of the best tools is a pressure bleeder. It is very important that the right level of vacuum is reached, because of the way a pressure bleeder works.

Practice Permit Test - Your Key to Passing the DMV Learner's Permit Test on the First Try

A practice permit test can be found online, in a good driver education class, or through online driver ed programs. But be careful! All of the online variety are written and edited by people from a variety of backgrounds. An article in a major Sacramento newspaper stated that the owner of one of the top online driver ed courses did have a license...but it was for pest control!

I am the owner of a driving school in Folsom, CA. We have taught driver education and driver training for over 18 years. 10,000 or more students. So we have a pretty good idea of how to prepare our students for the DMV test. In fact we have 2 former DMV Examiners on our staff. Here are some of our recommendations for getting your learner's permit and driver's license...and making sure you are SAFE when you start driving.

* Our first recommendation would be to get yourself into a classroom driver education course. If you take a class as opposed to the online version, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and get clarifications from a living, breathing teacher who can see if you are "getting it" or not. Online? You get it or you don't.

* If you can't find a driver ed class in a classroom, then ask around and find the best possible online driving course.

* Regardless of which way you go, be sure you take a practice permit test...or TEN! The only way to be sure you know the rules of the road, and right down to the smallest detail, is to work through as many practice permit test questions as you can before getting to the DMV. You need to find out just what kind of questions will be asked, how they will be worded, and what kind of details need to be learned. The best free practice permit test one we have found is at the link in this sentence. They offer a free sample permit test of 20 questions with no strings, so you can see how you do and see if you like their product. If you are in California, the dmv has a great free practice permit test too at the their site. The dmv practice test is just like the real thing, of course, and is a good prep for you.

Driving is going to be fun, but it does carry a ton of responsibility. Take the right approach now, by starting off with learning the rules and safety issues before getting behind the wheel. An online course can be "Quick" and "Easy" and "Cheap," but this is no time to cut corners.

Military Surplus Vehicles

Military surplus vehicles are cars, trucks, or jeeps that were once used by the military but are now being auctioned off to the general public. Typically these items are auctioned off via live or online auctions. They have reached mass appeal as of late, mainly attributed to the Internet and its incredible power to get 'the word' out. The exceptionally cheap prices and deals someone can potentially walk away with doesn't hurt its popularity either. Now that you know what a military surplus vehicle auction is, knowing what they're all about is just as important. And knowing is half the battle.

The online and especially the live military vehicle auctions are typically stocked with all types of formerly used army vehicles. Cars, trucks, jeeps, motorcycles, ambulances and even aircraft are sold at these auctions, albeit, they are demilitarized prior to sale. Generally military surplus vehicles are in good running condition. If, however, there is a malfunction, the defect is generally reported to potential bidders prior to auction. If you attend a live military surplus vehicle auction - and I've been to several - I advise you to bid carefully and find out as much information about the vehicle as you can prior to the bidding process. Doing a little research before the auction about the type of vehicle you wish to buy wouldn't hurt either.

Now you're probably curious as to why these perfectly good vehicles that once served a valuable purpose for our nation are now being auctioned off to the general public for a fraction of what the army had originally paid for them. There are a couple of reasons for this. The first reason is simple: they're old. That's right -- like a fine wine -- these cars, jeeps and trucks will inevitably hit their peak and eventually will no longer function as well as they once did, especially when it comes to the military's high vehicle standards. The second reason is also quite simple: technology. Many of these vehicles simply do not have all the technological advancements today's army vehicles need to have to serve their military purposes. And this cannot be easily remedied due to the high cost of alterations. Changes such as physical vehicle modifications, safety modifications, GPS capabilities are much too costly to deal with, so the military simply purchases new vehicles to eliminate the hassle. The great thing about it is that their - for lack of a better word - loss is your gain!

If you're interested in purchasing one of these vehicles there are several websites that specialize in providing information specifically on this subject. One such website that was truly a step above the rest was GovernmentAuctions.org. I was pleasantly surprised by just how many vehicle surplus listings there were within their online database. The amazing thing about the site is that you can browse online auctions that may ship out vehicles to anywhere in the U.S. Many of the auctions listed even allow for vehicle pickup if you live close enough. If you're looking for info on live military surplus vehicle auctions they got that too.

For the most comprehensive military surplus vehicle website on the net, http://www.GovernmentAuctions.org is definitely a site everyone should check out.

Used Race Car Parts

Used racecar parts are easily available on the net, in flea markets, gas stations, junkyards, and salvage yards. These can be sold on the Internet at free of cost on some sites. Racecar parts are prone to wear and tear and have to be replaced regularly. This means that racecar parts galore in the market. Used racecar parts usually do not come with a warranty because they are already damaged and there is no need for warranties even before they were damaged.

Some of the parts that are damaged in a car race are the rims, trailing arms or springs. Some salvage yards are teeming with racecar parts that have been modified and repaired. These parts are painted and repaired so that they can be put to use in no time. Another advantage of buying used racecar parts is that the shipping time is supposedly very less compared to the shipping time taken for other auto part deliveries.

Used racecar parts are usually priced according to their functions and a totally damaged chassis may not cost as much as a working one. However, the make and the design of the part also dictate the price at which it is sold. There are many books and sites on the net that can guide a person in choosing the appropriate used racing car part.

Many sellers on the Internet try to sell useless racecar parts to unsuspecting customers. These hassles can be avoided if the part is bought directly from a flea market or a salvage yard. Many parts of a racecar become useless after the race and have to be abandoned. These parts are then sold to salvage yards or thrown away in a junkyard depending upon the part itself and its usefulness.

If the buyer or the seller is a novice in this field then it is advisable to hire a mechanic or any professional who knows about racecar parts so that any accidents due to faulty parts can be avoided.
